I recently paid an on-site visit to Middleton International School Bangkok and put together a genuine review for parents planning overseas study with an annual budget of around 100,000 RMB.
Affiliated with Singapore’s EtonHouse Group, Middleton doesn’t have an oversized campus, yet its overall facilities are well-established. Unlike schools such as Harrow and Shrewsbury that focus heavily on hardware amenities, this school prioritizes academic teaching.
Campus Environment:Boasting a modern design with glass structures and wooden decor, the campus is spacious with excellent natural lighting. Classrooms and corridors are bright and airy, creating a cozy overall atmosphere.
Student Demographics:Most students come from local Thai middle-class families. There are currently no Chinese students and very few other international pupils, offering a pure English immersion learning environment for kids.
Tuition & Cost Performance:Annual tuition ranges from approximately 100,000 to 120,000 RMB. A special discount is now available: the first 30 registered applicants enjoy a 50% tuition discount.
Teaching Staff:All teachers are fully international, with the majority holding Singaporean and British nationality.
Important Reminders
Adopting the Singapore education system, its curriculum is slightly more rigorous than the British and American systems. It currently offers the IPC curriculum and only enrolls young learners. The follow-up curriculum framework is yet to be confirmed, and grade levels only go up to G4 for now.
Located in Pinklao, the area may be unfamiliar to Chinese families, but it features a relatively lower cost of living for accompanying parents.
Overall, this school is ideal for families with a limited budget who want their children to learn in a pure English environment at a young age and recognize the Singapore education system. Interested parents are highly recommended to visit the campus in person.
