From Public to International Track: A Comprehensive Analysis of 5
Time:2025-07-16

Children in domestic public schools who want to pursue international education will more or less encounter problems such

as poor English proficiency and tight availability of places in their preferred schools. Therefore, choosing a suitable transitional school is of vital importance.

The 5 international schools we are reviewing today are all located in Bangkok. They can not only improve

 your English proficiency in a short period of time but also offer verifiable pathways for further education.

I. Why Do We Need "Transitional Schools"?

Once children in the domestic public education system decide to switch

to an international curriculum, they often encounter three major drawbacks:

• Insufficient academic vocabulary in English, unable to understand or write.

A place at a prestigious university is hard to come by, and the waiting list often lasts for 1 to 2 years.

Parents lack A sense of the IB/A-Level/AP system and are worried that their children will not adapt to it.

The value of a "transition school" lies in the fact that within 1 to 3 years, students can make up for their English deficiencies

and adapt to inquiry-based classrooms in a relatively friendly language environment, and then seamlessly transition to their dream school.

Ii. School Selection Logic: What Exactly Are We Choosing?

Before presenting the list, make the screening criteria clear first to facilitate parents' identification and matching

① Language support: Is there an independent language center or EAL course, and how long is the duration?

② Degree of internationalization: Proportion of Chinese students, nationality of teachers, and language ratio in the classroom;

③ Completeness of academic stages: Can one complete the university application process in one stop, or is it necessary to transfer schools halfway through?

④ Convenience of life: For families accompanying students, commuting, medical care and shopping are equally important.

⑤ Tuition fee range: Make a horizontal comparison among schools of the same level to confirm the cost-effectiveness.

Four. Three Practical Suggestions for Parents

First, lock the "Exit" and then select the "Entry".

If the ultimate goal is to enter an American undergraduate program, give priority to the IB or American high school system. If you

want to aim for Oxford or Cambridge, both A-Level and IB are acceptable, but it depends on the school's historical admission data.

2. Conduct on-site visits to the school at least twice

The first time is to look at the hardware, and the second time is to attend random classes. The key points to observe are:

Whether the teacher crouches down to talk to the child;

• The update frequency of original English books in the library;

Which language do students communicate with each other during breaks?

3. Don't mistake "transition" for "making do"

The teaching staff and the completeness of the curriculum of a transitional school directly determine whether a child can meet

the admission standards of their dream school within one to two years. It's better to queue up than to settle for second best.

Conclusion

Switching to international education has never been an "easy" path, but choosing the right transitional school can minimize the risks.

These five schools in Bangkok include both established powerhouses and promising new ones, covering all educational stages from

 kindergarten to high school. If you match according to the priority order of "language support → complete educational stage → exit for further education", you are likely to find the smoothest path.

May every child grow into the shape they desire in the soil that suits them.
